MEXICO DENTAL PRICES 2015 by Board Certified Dentists Association in Mexico

Mexico Dentist Costs are way lower for the same procedures.

Carla Sanchez, Presidente' of the Board Certified Mexico Dentist Association.

There’s never been a better time to visit a dentist in Mexico according to US dentist Dr. Nelson Henry DMD of Wyndham Maine. The dentist owns 2 clinics in New England and during the economic crisis of the past several years the doctor has seen more and more of his patients unable to obtain affordable big treatments such as crowns, bridges, cosmetic dental makeovers and dental implants.

So he acquired a Mexican dental vacation website – About Mexican Dentists.com and soon became the very first US affiliate of the Board Certified Mexico Dentist Association.

He insists on using the services of certified Mexican dentists exclusively since they have had years of additional training in the advanced procedures most dental tourists are searching for and incredibly – cost the same as far less trained general dentists who like their US counterparts – only learn the basics in dental college - cleanings, drilling, filling and normal non-surgical extractions.

Despite howls of disapproval from fellow dentists in the US, Dr. Henry began sending patients to a certified Cabo dentist and dentist in Puerto Vallarta 2 years ago on Mexican dental vacations where they could get their cosmetic dentistry and dental implants for a fraction of the cost in the USA or Canada – and  without waiting weeks for an appointment.

Most crown or veneer work under a dozen teeth takes about a week according Cabo dentist Dr. Limon while a complete cosmetic dental makeover or full-mouth oral restoration may take up to two weeks

As the recession deepened – dentists in the US began turning off their clinic lights, the water pumps on their chair side cuspidors and closing their doors. Others began dropping their prices from $1,500 for a crown to $850 in some big cities. According to US dentist Dr. Henry - he heard one dentist in a small Appalachian town lowered his crown price to $495. But Dr. Henry couldn't find the place

Pass me another shot of tequila” said Puerto Vallarta dentist Dr. Terre Valle reacting to the news. “We had to do something or see our foreign patient business dry up.” In recent years, US and Canadian dental tourism rose to as much as 70% of a clinic’s patients for some Cabo and Puerto Vallarta dentists.

Board Certified Mexico Dentist members have fought back according to the Puerto Vallarta dentist.  Dr. Valle says that a recent survey shows some Mexico dentists recently lowered their prices for a porcelain/metal crown to only $455usd on average – down from as much as $595 in recent years.

Mexico Dentist Prices

The Puerto Vallarta dentist calculated If you are having a cosmetic dental makeover with 27 new crowns – that saves you $150 per tooth or $4050 vs. the old Mexico dentist price of $595 per unit. It gets even better when you compare the newly lowered Mexico dental price of $455 vs. the normal lowest price of $850 some US dentists are charging.

You get a savings of approx. $10,900 for your new Hollywood smile!

I don’t care much for math. But I love this Mexican dental arithmetic for there’s nearly enough savings in the solution to buy myself a good pickup.

Finally a word of advice from Dr. Henry: He cautions that general dentists in the US are not permitted  to attempt advanced dentistry without years of additional formal training and certification.  In Mexico – the government looks the other way letting general dentists circumvent attending years of specialist dental college, learning advanced dental procedures by practicing on their patients! Go with a board certified dentist when in Mexico so you know your Mexican dentist is properly trained and you will get what you are paying for.

With over 85% of Mexico dentists being general dentists and many wanting the foreign dental patient’s big budget treatment work – a patient needs to be sure of what kind of dentist they are getting and should insist on a board certified Mexico dentist for any advanced dental procedures such as a root canal, crown, dental makeover, any oral surgery or dental implants in Mexico.

Dr  Henry concludes: “A fully accredited and trained certified Mexico dentist who will give you superior dental work costs the same as a much-less trained general dentist in Mexico.”

The Association has dentists who are board certified for dental implants, oral restorations, crowns, root canals, tmj and more in Cabo San Lucas, (Los Cabos, San Jose del Cabo, Cabo) Cancun, Guadalajara, Los Algodones, Puerto Vallarta, Tijuana and other locales.
