Puerto Vallarta has miles of beautiful beaches and many dentists. Finding the best PV dentist for cosmetic dentistry, dental implants or oral surgery is not as easy as finding your way to the beach.

With Puerto Vallarta dentists (and Mexico in general) - quality is problematic and here’s why. General dentists in Mexico untrained in dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, root canals etc. can legally attempt advanced dental procedures by practicing on unsuspecting patients. If that fact didn't wake you up - read it again.
This situation is not
the result of any conspiracy, or criminality – just less consumer protection
laws. It used to be the same situation in the US many decades ago. But
the Mexican government does not get in the way of any general dentists in
Mexico who want to learn advanced dentistry the old-fashioned way – by trial
and error on their patients (that’s you, me and Jose' too).
But it could be worse - as in the smaller Mexican border
towns. There are many clinics which prey on desperate American patients operated by
illegal alien unlicensed dentists from Central America (and the USA), dental
school drop-outs, dental technicians and worse – clinics operated by
businessmen and American Insurance companies staffed with dental school grads
doing (attempting) specialist work at minimal wages.
May God help and protect you if
you get one of those nice young dentists learning root canals at your
expense.
An article all by itself could be written about all the new dental
tourism agencies out there with clever .com names like Tooth Fairy-Gogo or DentureAdventures. Denture Adventures?
Here's the problem. Dental tourism agencies accept any
dentist’s listing whether a general dentist inaccurately call themselves a
“specialist” or is the real deal as long as the dentist pays their listing fees. And you don’t know what you will get with these dentists..
But don’t be discouraged
and give up on taking that Puerto Vallarta dental vacation for here’s the way to get an
affordable root canal with a margarita chaser. Do what the ADA recommends and find a board certified dentist
for your important dentistry when you go offshore.
Highly-skilled board
certified dentists in Puerto Vallarta (or Cabo, Cancun, Los Algodones, Tijuana etc.) with years of advanced specialist training cost
the same as far-less skilled general dentists in Mexico. But board certified
dentists represent less than 1% of the dentists in PV.
To find one - contact
the Board Certified Mexico Dentist Association. They will find the right
dentist for you in the dental vacation destination of your dreams whether you need a dental makeover, oral restoration, crowns, veneers or oral surgery in Puerto Vallarta they have who you are searching for.
Their patient advisers
prepare estimates, 2nd opinions, referrals, answer
questions and are there for you through the entire process. And without
additional cost to you. They offer a level of personal assistance that the
commercial online dental tourism agencies do not.
For Free estimates,
referrals and dental tourism information contact:
